When you have a five year old, you go to the zoo a lot (see previous post). Fear not…this is not another zoo post!
Another thing you do is go to parties. Lots and lots of parties. And when you are as social as Molly, you have more than your share of friends, who all get older every.single.year.
This party was a bit different for both Molly and me. You see, It was the first drop-off party. A party where Molly goes, and I don’t. *sniff, sniff…my baby is growing up*
Because of the drop-off aspect of the party, I didn’t get a lot of pictures, which is simply a crime. How can I adequately document my child’s childhood without pictures?
I managed a few at drop-off and pick-up. I guess that will have to do. Sigh.
Here’s our party girl posing before entering the party.
And here she is with the guest of honor, Brooklynn (on left) and Makenna (on right).
And this is where I made my grand exit. Shunned. Left to face the cruel world, all on my own….
WAAA HOOO!
Two glorious hours to myself! To do things that I want to do! No buckling of car seats, no bribing explaining to a child how I expect her how to behave in a store. No one to make happy but little old me.
And that’s just what I did. When I returned to the party, I was sporting a brand new pair of shoes on my feet, with another brand new pair of shoes waiting for me in the car!
Ahhhh, two new pair of shoes that I got to shop for alone. All alone. No whining. No complaing. No “How much longer are you going to be, Mommy?”
How luxurious. Not that I don’t love my kid, but moments this this are precious and few in my life.
Back at the party, Brooklynn was just about finished unwrapping gifts. Guess I need to review with Molly how to sit like a lady when you are wearing a party dress. I see London, I see France, I see Molly’s underpants.
Okay, that’s little more lady-like, sweetie. Just trying to keep the blog “G” rated.
This party was at a cupcake bakery. Each party guest got to decorate 6 cupcakes to bring home. Yum! Here are Molly’s creations.
So, I guess we both survived to first drop-off party. Molly got a boxful of cupcakes, I got 2 brand new pairs of shoes. Looks like a win-win situation!
